Why study Korean?
The Korean economy is the 3rd largest in Asia after Japan, China, and 11th in the world. Choosing Korean creates valuable opportunities and rewards you with great experiences in your work and study. Korean skills give you a competitive edge in the job market and access to a fascinating country with a 5000 year history and a very bright future.
The Korean Program in the School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies offers a single major in Korean language and studies.
Students may also take elective courses in related studies areas to complement their Korean language study.
We also have postgraduate research program for those interested in the specialised study of Korea.
It is possible to include Korean courses in most degree programs. Our current students are studying arts, science, business and business management, law, engineering, social work and journalism. They see their Korean skills as a useful adjunct to their general and professional degree studies.
Please note changes are being made to Korean courses for 2013.
