Brisbane University Languages Alliance
Studying a language as part of your degree is a great way to enhance your studies and diversify your future career prospects.
In a globalised economy, language skills are highly valued in a wide range of industries and careers, including education and teaching, translation and interpreting, travel and hospitality, advertising and public relations, international business, law and commerce, and banking and finance.
Realising this, Griffith University (GU), Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and The University of Queensland (UQ) have formed an alliance to give you more opportunities to incorporate language studies into your degree.
The alliance is called the Brisbane Universities Languages Alliance (BULA) and it allows you to study the language you are interested in whether you are enrolled at GU, QUT or UQ.
If you want to study a language not offered by your university, it's easy! You cross-enrol through the BULA website. No matter where you undertake your language study, you will gain study credit toward your degree program at your home university.
You can choose from Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish, courses are available from beginner to advanced level.
